Welcome to the Red Lion in HeytesburyMike, Leonora and staff welcome you to the Red Lion, a friendly and welcoming village pub with guest rooms, located in the picturesque village of Heytesbury in the heart of the Wylye Valley. Conveniently situated just off the A36, the Red Lion is an ideal base for a flying visit or families wishing to visit Longleat (approximately 6 miles), or the slightly further afield the cities of Bath and Salisbury. Drop in and take advantage of free WiFi. We have ample car parking facilities available for patrons and residents at the rear and in front of the pub. All of our food is freshly prepared and home cooked. Before dinner why not relax in our cosy snug with a glass or two of locally brewed real ale or throw a bullseye on the dart board. Evening meals are served from 6-9pm, Tuesdays to Saturdays; light lunches are available from 12-2pm Tuesday to Saturday and on Sundays you can enjoy one of our roasts between 12 and 4pm. A separate private dining room can be booked to cater for private functions or business meetings. The pub has four comfortable letting rooms – all with ensuites (offering full sized baths and overhead showers), remote controlled flat screen TV, tea and coffee making facilities. At the back of the pub we have a huge beer garden which leads down to the Wylye River and includes a children's play area, complete with slippery dip, swings and climbing frame to keep the kids entertained. On warmer days grab a blanket, order some food and have your own picnic under the shade of a tree or umbrella. The garden space is also a great area to hold vehicle displays and club meets - campers can even pitch their tents on the wide lawns. Our pub is a pet friendly one too - well behaved dogs are definitely welcome in the pub and in the garden. For horse riders we have a large corral area with tethering facilities, mounting block and water trough – hitch your horse or driving carriage and come into the pub for lunch! The area is a great walking destination with a number of walks starting outside our front door, ranging between a half hour stroll to a 5 hour ramble, suiting the casual stroller or the dedicated walker. Follow the meandering Wylye or cross Salisbury Plain, there are landscapes and walks for all. |
